C40 Cities study finds that without urgent action, millions more people around the globe will face grave risks from river flooding, along with more frequent and severe drought by 2050. C40 city mayors will collaborate to develop and deliver upon data-driven commitments to address the impacts of drought and flooding in cities globally.

In connection with Grundfos' Annual General Assembly on 29 April, the Grundfos Foundation announces record philanthropic donation framework of DKK 250 million (~EUR 34 million) for important purposes all over the world.

Grants worth almost 12m DKK on their way to communities
The Foundation has approved community grants worth almost 9 million DKK (1,2m EUR) for local social initiatives all over the world. Additional emergency funding of 2.7m DKK (268,000 EUR) is also on the way to local organisations helping refugees in Poland Hungary and Slovakia.

20m DKK to help refugees
The Grundfos Foundation releases 3 x 5m DKK to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), DRC Danish Refugee Council, and Danmarks Idrætsforbund (DIF) to help refugees in and around Ukraine and in Denmark. An additional 5m DKK is made available to local Grundfos companies for emergency relief via the Poul Due Jensen Community Engagement Grant.

Fourth generation Due Jensen in the Board of Directors
At its annual meeting on 14 March, the Board of Directors elected Helena Due Langvad to fill the empty seat after Estrid Due Hesselholt who has decided to step down. Helena is the first of the founder's great-grand-children to serve on the Board of Directors of the foundation created by Poul Due Jensen in 1975 to safeguard his life's work, Grundfos.

Girls’ educational opportunities are particularly affected by the global water crisis. Not only can contaminated water make them too sick to attend school, but they also typically shoulder the burden of collecting water for their families. Losing out on an education impacts their economic prospects in the future.
