Since 2017, Oxfam and the Grundfos Foundation have been working together alongside local partners in Nepal, developing new sustainable models to supply rural communities with professionalised safe water services. As Coronavirus swept across the globe, the need for such services, as well as support for the country’s health system, became even more urgent.

New partnership to amplify water’s story
In 2021, SIWI will leverage the World Water Week platform to improve the quality, accuracy, and intensity of reporting and storytelling on water through capacity building for journalists and communicators under the World Water Week Communications Initiative – all thanks to a grant from the Grundfos Foundation.

30,000 face shields for Doctors without Borders (MSF)
Across the globe, health systems are in urgent need of personal protective equipment. Shortages and soaring prices of crucial items such as masks and aprons – make it difficult to allow essential medical services to stay open. The Grundfos Foundation is therefore donating 30,000 face shields to Doctors without Borders.

The Foundation awards 10 new Community Engagement Grants
On 4 June, the Board of Directors of the Grundfos Foundation awarded 10 new Poul Due Jensen Community Engagement Grants for local project partnerships involving Grundfos companies around the world . The donations of 2.7m DKK mean the Foundation has now allocated 4.3m DKK of the 20m DKK grant framework agreed earlier this year.

The Foundation has granted 2.4m DKK (USD 350,000) to support World Vision's Global Health Emergency Response activities in Ghana and Niger.

Smart Water Infrastructure Lab to rethink automation
Aalborg University (AAU)'s Smart Water Infrastructure Lab (Swift) has received a new grant from the Foundation to support research leading to robust design and optimized water infrastructure solutions, including development of new technologies to secure infrastructures.
