In Turkey, Grundfos employees continue to engage with engineering students on sustainable development in partnership with the NGO Sustainability Steps Association. Engineers have a critical role in designing and implementing sustainable infrastructure to achieve the UN Global Goals successfully.

– With the Responsible Engineers of Sustainability project, we enable young engineers to understand the important relationship between sustainability and engineering, guide them by using creative thinking techniques to look at the problems around them in a solution-oriented manner, and we will prepare them for business life as the sustainability leaders of the future and showcase responsible engineering by sharing good examples of Grundfos’ sustainability goals, explains Burak Gürkan, Senior Regional Sales Director and Country Director for Turkey.

Grundfos’ employees in Turkey will contribute with 256 voluntary hours to facilitate workshops at 4 big cities of Turkey and also take part as speakers in trainings at 16 Turkish universities.

At Peerless Pump in Indianapolis, USA, CSC Director Jerome Sobota and Application Engineer Mackenzie Wheeler are both mentors for FIRST robotics Team 1024 and volunteer over 300 hours a year mentoring student team members from local schools. The grant will contribute toward building a FIRST Robotics Practice Field to provide a consistent anchor and home for the robotics pipeline in Lawrence Township, Indianapolis

– The space in the McKenzie Center has already been prepared for the installation of the project. We expect to complete installation by the start of the competition season and use it through May 2024.  The field life is expected to be over a decade and will aid the team greatly in reaching out to the community for years to come, says Jerome Sobota.
