Sediment removal technology with minimal disturbance of lake ecosystems
Traditionally, reduction of phosphorus in lakes has been achieved by either digging up the sediment or by adding aluminium, which binds the phosphorus. Both are radical interventions that can have a negative effect on a lake’s ecosystem.

Liv and Anne from Egå Gymnasium will compete in the 2024 Stockholm Junior Water Prize
In an exciting science project, Anne Gammelmark Therkildsen and Liv Kanstrup Arami from Egå Gymnasium have described the possibilities of making plants salt tolerant so they can be irrigated with saline water and we can make crops less vulnerable to coastal flooding. Therefore, the Foundation sends the group to Stockholm in August, where they will compete in the Stockholm Junior Water Prize together with young people from all over the world.

SOS Children’s Villages Denmark (SOS DK) has initiated a new project to help reform the childcare system in Ukraine in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Ukraine (SOS UA), the Villum Foundation, Viessmann Foundation, Grundfos Foundation, Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation, the VELUX Group, Somfy Foundation, DOVISTA, Flügger, VELUX Ukraine, Kromann Reumert and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO).

Life in Kaguruka village has drastically changed for schools, health facilities, households, and children who have access to clean drinking water. This has especially lifted the burden off women carrying water for long distances and reduced the financial strain caused by excessive medical expenses. The time previously spent fetching water is now being used by parents to focus on other income-gaining opportunities.

Clean water creates well-being for refugees
Four solar-powered water systems have provided access to clean drinking water for more than 39,000 refugees in Ethiopia through the SunWASH project. This has meant fewer diseases and more empowerment of women in two refugee camps in Pugindo, Ethiopia, on the border with South Sudan.

Grundfos Foundation is increasing trust and reducing requirements for UNICEF in a new agreement. The goal is faster and more equitable emergency responses. As the two-year mark of the escalation of the war in Ukraine approaches, the Grundfos Foundation is donation DKK 1 million to UNICEF’s global humanitarian response.
