Through its emergency partnerships, the Foundation has released funds for emergency relief in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and in Venezuela.

The Ebola outbreak continues to spread in communities already under extreme pressure in eastern DR Congo and neighbouring countries.

  • The Grundfos Foundation has donated DKK 1 million to support UNHCR’s urgent efforts to prevent the spread of the virus by strengthening access to life-saving health, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services.

In a disease outbreak like Ebola, safe access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene can mean the difference between life and death, especially for forcibly displaced people, who often have limited access to basic services. As the provider of last resort for displaced people, UNHCR ensures that essential protection and services reach those with nowhere else to turn.

More than 2 million forcibly displaced people live in the most affected areas. This support helps UNHCR reach these people in time with the information, protection and clean water they need to survive.

Emergency relief in Venezuela

Following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, thousands of families are facing the aftermath of the disaster, having lost their homes and the sense of safety many of us take for granted.

  • We have released DKK 500,000 to support UNHCR’s humanitarian response in Venezuela.
  • We have released DKK 1 million to support UNICEF’s humanitarian response in Venezuela
  • We have released DKK 811,000 to support Water Mission’s humanitarian response in Venezuela

The support provides emergency shelter, essential relief items like blankets, mattresses, and water buckets, as well as protection support for vulnerable displaced families.
