Nyarugusu Refugee Camp
Solar-powered drinking water for 200,000 in Western Tanzania
On 24 October, after three years of work, the Foundation inaugurated Borehole 2 in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp. With the last of three boreholes in use, the Foundation's water projects provide drinking water for almost 150,000 refugees in Western Tanzania. The Foundation could also celebrate having reached over 50,000 Tanzanians in poor rural communities outside the camp.

Water and data flow in Togo
After a succesful installation mission to Togo's Plateaux Region, the two villages of Bouré and Iko-Akpa now enjoy improved access to drinking water. The Poul Due Jensen Foundation and its partners will be able to harvest real-time data on the performance of the pilot system which combines solar panels, saltwater batteries and an SQ Flex submersible pump.

A different approach to water management in Nepal
In Nepal, Oxfam works closely with local and national authorities to improve the sustainability of water supply schemes through a public-private partnership approach. This work has also influenced the project design of a safe water programme funded by the Foundation.
Nyarugusu Refugee Camp
66,000 now have access to safe water in Nyarugusu Refugee Camp
Two solar powered water systems are now in operation and delivering water to 66,000 refugees in the large refugee settlement in Western Tanzania. Automatic chlorination has also been put in place to ensure improved health in the camp.
