2023 World Water Week took place in Stockholm from 20 to 24 August. In collaboration with its partners from the NGO world, Stockholm International Water Institute, and Grundfos, the Grundfos Foundation presented several interesting sessions.

World Water Week, an annual event for the global water community featuring hundreds of inspiring sessions, took place this week.  As usual, the Grundfos Foundation participated flanked by a number of interesting partners in a joint exhibition booth.

Many activities at World Water Week

This year’s theme was Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World.

  • Water in Communications is a SIWI partnership programme supported by the Grundfos Foundation. Journalists and communicators around the world have attended free training courses aiming at building knowledge and skills for improved communication around water.
    The programme includes three Centre Stage sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during World Water Week and features two prominent speakers from Grundfos:

    • VP of Sustainability, External Relations & Communication, Astrid Nørgaard Friis
    • Maria Andrén, Senior Director, Group Communications.

The Foundation and its partners participated in the official program in several ways:

  • With our Indian partner, Sunlit Future, we offered an online showcase on Water delivery in remote areas in India using solar energy on Sunday 20 august 9:00-9:30 AM CEST
  • With Water Mission and Plan International Denmark (PlanBørnefonden), we offered an online/onsite session on Challenging paradigms through solar powered water systems planning in Ethiopia on Wednesday 23 august 9:00-10:30 AM CEST

  • Practical Action presents an online/onsite session on Joining up disaster preparedness and climate resilient wash services on Wednesday 23 august 9:00-10:30 am
  • Our partners from Plan International Denmark, Plan Togo and Copenhagen University appeared in a talk show to share Lessons from an innovative partnership between wash practitioners and researchers on Wednesday 23 august 3:00-3:40 PM

  • Our partners from Oxfam Nepal participated with their film about Building an Alternative Management Model for rural water supply in the film screening & discussion event at Centre Stage on Wednesday 23 august 5:45-7:45 PM CEST. As an add-on to the Water in Communications program, the Foundation also sponsored the film screening event.
