Volunteering all over the world

In Fresno, California, the Fresno Mission’s Family Center exists to break the cycles of homelessness, poverty, and trauma for vulnerable families in crisis, especially single mothers and their children. The Family Center is a 4-story residential tower with 74 rooms. It has the potential to serve 500 men, women, youth, and children. Located within City Center, the Family Center provides a safe, stable, and supportive environment where families can heal, rebuild, and thrive.

There are consistent volunteer opportunities available, with two shifts daily, Monday through Friday, mainly in the Food Services department, where there are various tasks that need to be completed, i.e. stocking shelves, preparing food, etc. With 300 employees in Grundfos Fresno, this will be presented to all as an opportunity for community work and a fulfilling partnership, and we believe we can contribute thousands of hours over the years here.

In Ukraine, the “Pump your future”-project empowers vulnerable teenagers to envision a better future by connecting them with inspiring mentors from Grundfos. This will help them adapt to the modern labor market, unlock their potential, and gain prospects for professional growth. Grundfos employees in Ukraine will contribute 4 hours per month each, and the organisers expect 10 continually active Grundfos employees in this project during a 12-month period.

“Volunteers from Grundfos participate as mentors, offering their time, knowledge, and life experience to guide and inspire the teenagers. Employees from various departments—technical, sales, service—share insights into their career paths, provide soft and hard skill training, and support the participants in building confidence and setting goals. In addition, some employees help organize events, workshops, and company visits,” explains Natalia Bailly, CSSC Supervisor, Grundfos Ukraine

In Korea, 35.5% of households consist of single individuals, particularly elderly and isolated people, and this number is increasing annually. These individuals often lack support from the social system and are unaware of available assistance, leading to isolation and deteriorating living conditions. Local authorities have initiated programs to assist these individuals by identifying them, providing welfare support, and expanding the welfare network in the area where the Grundfos Gwangju Plant is located.

“This initiative can serve as a long-term project for our Gwangju Plant employees to engage with and support the local community,” explains Sungsik Kil, Head of Country- and Plant HR, Grundfos Korea.
